The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting the public in identifying a vehicle and its affiliates as part of the investigation into the cause of the Nakia Creek fire.
The fire chief’s workplace shared a video that was taken around 3:30 p. m. Oct. 21 on a ridge near Larch Mountain, according to a news release. The video shows a vehicle before heading toward a plume of smoke emerging on a hill.
“We are looking at what would be a white or light-colored Subaru,” Deputy Fire Chief Curtis Eavenson said in a news release. “From witness statements, we also know that there were two men and two women connected to this vehicle. “
Authorities have said in the past that the fire, which allegedly started around 3:45 p. m. Of that day, it was of human origin, but the official cause remains under investigation.
