Citroen UK MD welcomes Prestatyn dealer drivers overdue

Citroen UK CHIEF executive Eurig Druce officially welcomed Drivers of Prestatyn to the PSA Group franchise with an opening that had been delayed due to COVID-19.

Drivers officially added Citroen to Peugeot’s existing operation on their Coast Road site in late 2019, but the COVID-19 pandemic was delayed on Druce’s inaugural scale until mid-August, forcing the logo and its new franchise to forge a long distance. running back dating the lockdown.

Chief executive Mark Edgley said he believed the addition of the logo was a logical step for his company after 25 years at Peugeot.

He said: “Prestatyn drivers are proud to welcome Citroen to the company. We opened the franchise in November last year and saw a lot of interest in the logo from the beginning. Customers can rest assured that our sales and after-sales groups provide the service they expect from Citroen and Prestatyn drivers. »

Druce said: “We are delighted to welcome Prestatyn drivers to Citroen UK’s network of runners.

“Mark and his team enjoy it a lot and are already experts in everything similar to Citroen.

“The good luck you’ve had over the more than 25 years working with PSA Group is a testament to the hard work and effort of Prestatyn’s pilots to provide exceptional service.

“We will give each and every step of the way and wish the whole team the best.”

Drivers of Prestatyn is the newest franchisee to register with the British network of 135 Citroen dealers.

Despite the setbacks due to COVID-19, the logo said that its distributors were ahead of hosting the new C3, C5 Aircross Hybrid, ‘Dispatch van’, ‘SpaceTourer MPV’, recently introduced, and the range.

Last fall, Druce’s predecessor Karl Howkins revealed that adjustments to the reliability of the Citroen network would be needed after what had been “an incredible year” for the industry.

Howkins stated that he expected disruptions from brokers in the industry and that there were sites in Citroen’s network of brokers.

Average sales go back to the entire network at the time (October 2019) 0.1% and some of the dealers were in balance or in deficit. The most sensitive quartile generates about 2% of sales.

For many troubled sites, structural prices or staff are too high for the income they have to generate, Howkins told AM.

“For our distributors to succeed, we want to have multiple franchises,” he says.

At the time, Howkins stated that Citroen had already become familiar with some of the needs of demonstrators and had reduced the minimum length of the showroom to 3 cars for some locations.
