Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice turned himself in to the Glenn Heights Police Department on Thursday and was taken into custody, according to Pete Grathoff of the Kansas City Star.
An arrest warrant issued Wednesday for his involvement in a car crash in March.
Bail was set at $40,000.
Rice and his former SMU teammate, cornerback Teddy Knox, were charged with six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of molesting assault (a second-degree felony) and one count of collision involving bodily injury (one count of the third degree). through Rebecca Lopez, Paul Livengood, Matt Howerton and Pete Freedman of WFAA. com.
The latter two charges carry a maximum sentence of 10 and 20 years respectively.
Rice drove a Lamborghini SUV he had rented from Classic Lifestyle, while Knox drove a Corvette also rented as Rice. The two men are believed to have clashed at the time of the crash. All passengers in both cars fled the scene after the crash. .

In the past, Rice had posted on Instagram that she took “full responsibility for my role in this matter and will continue to cooperate with mandatory authorities. “I sincerely apologize to everyone involved. “
“We continue to evolve the situation,” NFL lead spokesman Brian McCarthy told Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio on Wednesday.
Rice, 23, played in 16 regular-season games for the Chiefs and all four playoff games leading up to the team’s Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
