Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes buys Father Cadillac Escalade for his birthday

Pat Mahomes Sr. will drive in flavor after your 50th birthday.

According to Sam McDowell of the Kansas City Star, Mahomes Sr. won a Cadillac Escalade for his son’s birthday. His son turns out to be Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who has just won a Super Bowl championship and $450 million contract extension.

“Whenever I was young and he was in MLB, he had the Black Escalade,” Mahomes said of his father. “Then I ended up giving him one for his birthday.”

Mahomes Sr. played in the primary leagues for the Minnesota Twins, the New York Mets, the Boston Red Sox, the Chicago Cubs, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Texas Rangers.

In July, the young Mahomes signed a 10-year, $450 million contract extension that will keep him under the Chiefs’ control until 2031. ESPN’s Adam Schefter said it was the richest contract in NFL history.

Obviously, it was a good enough business to buy his father the birthday present.
