New information has come to light about Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice’s involvement in a six-car crash in Dallas on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters at a press convention Thursday, Rice’s attorney, Texas state Sen. Royce West, said Rice claimed she was driving the Lamborghini that the government decided was one of two cars at fault in the crash on Dallas’ North Central Expressway. .
During the press conference, West also asked him if he thought the Dallas district attorney would press charges against Rice and he replied, “Yes. “He added that he had not yet spoken to the bosses about it.
The Associated Press reported Tuesday that the government said the Lamborghini leased through Rice and a Corvette sped up when they lost control. The Lamborghini fell onto the shoulder and hit the center center wall, causing it to collide with the other vehicles. Four other people were treated for minor injuries as a result of the accident.
Police said the occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette fled the scene without providing their details or determining whether those involved in the crash needed medical attention.
Rice took to social media on Wednesday to announce that she takes “full responsibility” for her involvement in the crash and is cooperating with authorities:

West said Thursday that he believes his client will be judged too harshly after a single incident.
“Why don’t you say who he is, instead of what happened?Because it looks like what you’re saying is based on that incident, you’re going to describe it based on that incident, rather than his entire frame of paintings,” West said. “I would say that, and both, if we were all defined through a single incident, it would be ridiculous, compared to our entire framework. So I would ask them, like the media, to take a look at their overall picture. Picture paintings before saying exactly who it is. It will be better.
Rice, a second-round pick coming out of the Chiefs in 2023. He played in 16 regular-season games and participated in all four playoff games as Kansas City won its second straight Super Bowl.
