As the GM Authority was covered exclusively in July, General Motors got rid of the optional 2. 0L I4 LTG turbo gasoline engine from the list of features for the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain 2021. Now, however, GM Authority learned that the 2022 Style Year will reintroduce a new 2. 0L I4 turbocharged engine option, although it may not be the LTG, but the Chevy Equinox 2022 and GMC Terrain 2022 will offer the 2. 0L I4 LSY turbocharged as a component of the revised engine range.
Compared to the previous LTG petrol engine, the 2. 0 L I4 LSY turbocharger engine planned for the 2022 Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain 2022 produces lower maximum power, but offers greater refinement in terms of power and generates fewer emissions.
When supplied with the new 2. 0L I4 LSY turbocharged, the 2022 Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain 2022 will fit the Cadillac XT4 in force levels, generating 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
The LTG engine will be removed from the Equinox and Terrain diversity as a component of the 2021 style year renewal, with the LSY acting as a replacement; however, as the 2021 update of the year went back to 2022 due to COVID-like headaches. -19 pandemic, the addition of the new LSY engine option was also delayed.
This means that the year of style 2021 will be the year of style in which Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain will offer a single engine, namely the I4 LYX turbocharged engine of 1. 5 L.
Even though the LTG is no longer a component of the range, which of those 3 engines do you prefer on the 2022 Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain 2022: the 2. 0L I4 LTG turbocharged, the 2. 0L I4 LSY turbocharged or the I4 1. 5L?Turbocharged LYX? Exactly as I said
the key is more refinement and fewer emissions.
This look like a pipe with almost the same torque.
More subtle and usable torque. You should feel more powerful and more receptive to the follower.
I did expect the 2. 0 litres not to be removed
The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox looks amazing because it borrows the style of its older brother, the Chevrolet Blazer.
Just like I predicted!
Andrew / shockandawe,
I said it first, as I had predicted; I called this long before you, everyone wants more instinct and information. . .
Everything is fine. Better emissions and refinement are a smart thing. Hell, I’d be completely okay with the 1. 5L turbo. There are still many resumptions and torque and I’m sure of MPGs. However, the Equinox is much larger than the CX5, Rav4 and CRV. .
As the owner of an equinox, I would say that I have invested more time and money in repairing it, be it distribution chains (2 times), CV axles, exhaust manifold divided into two, the entire transmission has just been rebuilt, remember by a top oil consumption. This car is a pos and everyone I know with a junction or some other equinox tell similar stories . . . I hope my car is stolen while I sleep at night, so it’s a nightmare for others.
Second generation equinox?
The original Equinox has a perfect 3. 4 L V6 engine, which may not be as economical, but is reliable. My own 2009 style at 11 (now in its twelfth) has never caused me any clutter. It had only two other disorders (two speed sensors and a ignition candle), which were caused by bad suppliers, and all solved by the broker their first year.
So I strongly propose to bring back a V6 engine for the Equinox in the long run. Many of us prefer reliability and robustness and don’t care much about MPGs. If we did, we would buy the cheapest imports (in all the words of this word).
Raymond, don’t you have a Fusion Hybrid? I don’t care about mpg with my o4 GTO because I use my c-Max hybrid as a controller.
LTG engine!
But since I have a 2012 AWD 3. 0 V6, a six would also be great, 98678 miles and strong!
Tony, if you drive the Turbo, you’ll realize that the torque does a completely different exercise. It had a 12 3. 0 and you lose a lot of low-end and start the engine for power. The 2. 0 engines have a flat torque curve and it’s exciting to drive.
Ltg has HP that less
I have a 2019 equinox with 2. 0 LTG that I used reg. Gasoline for 1 year 1 emission premium not required
I think a superior octane on a forced induction engine is worth the additional $5 to $10 to help prevent engine shocks. I sense that fashion engines have shock sensors, but why threaten it?A higher octane index also has the additional benefits of increased strength and I also believe that artificial oil is worth the additional $30 each and every 6 months or whatever, just my two cents. A commuter car depreciates so fast that you’d better leave it as long as you can.
Tom Read the manual. Recommended Premium offers you the option. Premium Requis you have to use it. GM offers this option in the maximum of its turbo engines.
Keep in mind that you lose about 20 hp with the least amount of fuel.
Thank you for the suggestion. The manual says the “recommended premium” fuel is 93 octane for functionality and economy. You will be informed or informed of everything new every day at my age.
As expected. The 1. 5T wants more strength and the new LSY wants greater attention to sound quality and can use more than 230 horsepower.
