CATL Work on Faster Charging Batteries for Tesla

The world’s largest battery manufacturer, CATL, has revealed that it is using faster-charging batteries for Tesla. These new batteries are expected to make the EV maker better compete with China’s new generation of cutting-edge batteries, which offer faster charging than ever before.

CATL President Robin Zeng showed off the paints of the new batteries in a recent interview with Bloomberg News in Hong Kong. While he didn’t provide many main points about the new batteries, he said they would feature new electrochemical structures that would allow for faster charging. not just those new batteries that will strengthen the ties between CATL and Tesla.

Zeng added that the battery maker already supplies machines to Tesla’s Gigafactory in Nevada. It also recently emerged that Tesla would ramp up battery production at the site and open another small factory for recently unused CATL equipment.

CNEVPost suggests that the new batteries Zeng is talking about are CATL’s new M3P battery. This battery has been in the works for two years and will have a higher power density than regular lithium iron phosphate batteries. They will also charge less than ternary batteries. Leading scientists previously said they would produce electric vehicles with a range of more than 700 km (435 miles) and theoretically have the ability to fully charge in just 15 minutes.

One of the most innovative new batteries in China is Li Auto’s Qilin battery and co-developed with CATL. The company claims that the battery can be charged so quickly that it can add 500 km (311 miles) to a vehicle’s diversity in just 12 minutes.

During his interview, Zeng also revealed that the company will soon train Ford engineers at its plants in Ningde, Fujian and Germany. It is also in talks with 10 to 20 other U. S. and European automakers to reach agreements.
