Learn how CODESYS Automation Server and IIoT devices provide precise, cloud-based control.
Especially for the progression and optimization of application software for car wash systems, several long-standing disorders want to be resolved:
How does the operator or manufacturer of the appliance have a review of the delivered order systems? After all, these are widely dispersed lately with more than 40 sites in two countries in our example.
The control application software must be held as source code and executable binary code. How can I control and be available in a central location? How can legal staff seamlessly access the latest versions, especially if they are not in company offices?
How can application software updates be temporarily implemented in already installed washing systems, without an on-site painter having to paint with the PLC programming tool?
How can the manufacturer adjust parameters remotely to optimize washing effects without having to go to the respective production site? How can you get a quick review of the parameters of the other production sites?
How can operators and industrialists protect themselves against loss of operating profit due to lack of control? In other words: how can I temporarily terminate the appearance of the device replacement software so that an affected formula can be temporarily put back into service?
How can an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) offer you all these tasks?
How can Inasoft connect CODESYS drivers to the automation server? 4 undeniable steps are needed:
Create an account. Accounts for the CODESYS automation server can be configured in the CODESYS store, where all account management is carried out.
Connect readers to the cloud server. Because knowledge security is a primary issue, CODESYS users must have a variety of security measures to protect devices and applications. First, the CODESYS Edge gateway creates an additional layer of security by separating internet reader networks. To do this, Inasoft installs this gateway as a software service, either on a special ler or separately on compromised Linux or Windows devices. The gateway is the transition point or “edge” between the on-premises ler network and the cloud platform. All communications to the cloud are encrypted and signed with the X.509 certificate, the same security criteria used in online banking applications. The same security measures can be implemented for device programming and communication with the local network.
Logging Edge Gateways to the AUTOMATION Server account CODESYS: The CODESYS progression formula the formula integrator for registering Edge gateways at other car wash sites in the automation server account.
Add drivers to the CODESYS automation server: A network scan through the Internet interface demonstrates all controllers connected to the gateways. Inasoft can load those drivers for management through the automation server with a mouse click. That’s all you need to do to create a central list of devices. This list can be displayed in the browser of a PC, computer or cellular device. To improve clarity, Inasoft has also graphically structured controllers in topology perspectives, e.g. with mapping perspectives of their locations in two countries. It is also possible to organize the demonstration in other types of facilities.
With the CODESYS automation server, Inasoft’s formula integrator is now well located to solve the typical responsibilities faced by operators and car wash brands. CODESYS is adding new features to Automation Server. The latest examples are remote debugging or remote access to IHM interfaces of controllers and knowledge analyzers.
