Approximately 7:00 p.m. On August 11, a white man driving a van stole a tent used through the New Milford Visitor Nurses Association – Hospice Association for its COVID-19 checkpoint at 68 Park Lane Rd., according to police.
The guy who was driving a four-door blue GMC, in all likelihood a “Canyon” van with Connecticut license plates. Police said plaque numbers may simply not be noticed on a surveillance camera due to symbol quality and distance.
The guy noticed that he was entering the south car park of the VNA, retreating into a parking space and then loading the retractable tent into his truck. He left with the tee-green tent, heading north on Highway 202, according to police.
“The VNA offers the COVID verification site as a community service, and the tent costs only $50.00, it’s a valuable device for nurses operating on the verification site,” police wrote in a Facebook post.
