A road at a busy roundabout on the outskirts of Exeter blocked this afternoon after a twist of fate involving a car and an ambulance.
Road and traffic monitoring Inrix says the incident occurred on the A3015 Honiton Road in Sowton, next to the Moor Lane roundabout, which is at Junction 29 of the M5 motorway.
The incident had blocked the road in the first place, but an update was posted around 2:15 p. m. Through Inrix it says that traffic can access the address again.
A message in it reads: “A3015 Honiton Road partially blocked, heavy traffic due to an accident, two cars affected at moor lane roundabout.
“At the roundabout. Callers report that traffic may backtrack from the roundabout. “
Devon and Cornwall police said no one was injured in the incident and the ambulance left the scene.
An update to Inrix released at 3:15 p. m. that the incident has been resolved.

An Inrix update posted at 3. 15pm reads: “The road has been cleared and traffic has returned to normal, the turn of fate has been removed at A3015 Honiton Road at the Moor Lane roundabout.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said: “One of our floor ambulances was involved in a collision with a car on Honiton Road, Exeter at 12:34 pm, while transporting a patient to hospital.
“There were no injuries as a result of the collision and, despite the ambulance sustaining minor injuries, we had to continue transporting the patient to the hospital. “

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: ‘The collision itself was a non-injury incident.
“The ambulance, that we know of, has left the scene for its journey. “
