Nissan INFINITI’s luxury department has announced Canadian costs for other versions of its upcoming QX50 2019. The redesigned luxury SUV debuted in the media last January in California and is expected to be available to consumers this summer.
The automaker has also introduced an exclusive rewards program to inspire consumers to ebook their new QX50 through May 31 (no e-booking commitments). By signing up for INFINITI and sharing the news on Faceebook or Twitter, INFINITI will offer rewards that will accumulate as more and more people get in touch.
Here’s how the program works: book your QX50 by May 31 you’ll get a one-year subscription to Apple Music. Rewards will accrue (with Apple TV 4k and an Apple Watch added to the combination) if the total number of enrollees exceeds 1000, and will fall back if the total reaches 2000. All buyers will get rewards.
For the product itself, the value of the Luxury 2.0t AWD variant is set to $44,490. For Essential 2.0t AWD version, which has 4 versions, the values are: $48,990 (BASE model), $52,990 (ProACTIVE), $56,490 (sensory) and $57,990 (autograph).
INFINITI relies heavily on the QX50, especially due to the mechanical configuration it incorporates. The turbocharged 4-cylinder 2.0 L engine benefits from the new generation allowing real-time variation in compression rate. The system, which we had the opportunity to check on the vehicle launch in January, is very efficient and saves fuel while providing maximum power.
The challenge with the new setup is that there is only one CVT in the menu, and its union with the engine configuration is challenging. The high-end driving pleasure you would expect from a luxury style is simply not provided with this setup.
So, while the QX50 has many qualities, the real pleasure of driving would possibly leave something else. The challenge has little to do with the transmission itself, which does a wonderful task on other INFINITI models. It’s just not in your position here…
