The California Roadrace Association (CRA) has released its 2024 calendar, a five-round race schedule with two special occasions designed to evoke the history of road racing with the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club (WSMC).
With Pacific Utility Installation, the partnership’s title sponsor, the 2024 season, presented through Better Call Sy and Classic Cabinets, includes two rounds at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, an event at the Podium Club in Arizona and two rounds at Willow’s iconic grand track. . Site of national-level AMA and WERA races in the past, as well as the $150,000 Toyota Two Hundred and the Roadracing World 250/50, the fast 2. 5-mile main course also hosted the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club (WSMC), which attracted world-class racers and professional racing groups to its monthly events.
Thanks to WSMC’s influence, the CRA’s Willow Springs events will boast an elegance that returns in Formula 50. Those with fond memories of racing at the historic circuit are encouraged to dust off their race bikes, put on new tyres and revisit the memories of looking to get through turn eight with full throttle. . .
Two rounds at the challenging Buttonwillow Raceway Park, the home of the RCAF, will frame the mid-season excursion to the Podium Club. CRA’s stopover on the 2. 32-mile, 15-turn circuit last season was a hit and hit with association members. runners, so the trip to Arizona is back in play for 2024.
CRA is partnering with Fun Track Dayz, Apex Assassins and Let’s Ride Track Days to provide track days on the Fridays prior to each round. Riders who are comfortable at a track day pace can take the next step and obtain their CRA license on the Friday before race weekend, allowing them to compete the next day with a racer-focused organization that emphasizes safety, competition and fun!
Emergency benefits will be made from the Yamaha, Kawasaki and BMW brands, as well as the Dunlop and Bridgestone tire brands. A wide variety of sponsors provide money and merchandise payments for many categories, adding the Pacific Utility Gold Cup as the headliner on the Sunday of the race weekend. Races are held on Saturdays and Sundays, with categories for everything from lower-provision race bikes to heavyweight American twins made of iron.
Reigning CRA Overall Champion Bryce Prince, a former MotoAmerica National Champion, says the most productive facets of racing with the CRA are the sponsor and the format.
“There are payouts in almost every single grade, and there are grades, which I think is vital for safety,” Prince says. “The owners are enthusiastic and care about the game and its development. “
The CRA’s 2024 calendar is as follows:
February 16-18, Willow Springs International Raceway (main track), Rosamond, California
March 22-24, Buttonwillow Raceway Park, Buttonwillow, California
