On Thursday, when O. J. La Simpson’s family announced that he had died of cancer, Caitlyn Jenner wasted no time in making her emotions known.
“Have a good trip #OJSimpson,” Jenner, who became entangled with Simpson through the Kardashians and who, like Simpson, is an elite athlete, posted on X on Friday. This has led several commentators to point out that Jenner herself is rarely completely morally perfect.
“I’m sure the family members of the user you ran over can’t WAIT to say the same thing about you,” one user commented. “Didn’t you kill someone with your car?” wrote another.
In 2017, a wrongful death lawsuit was filed against Jenner through Kim Howe’s stepchildren, who killed in 2015 when Jenner rear-ended her, causing Howe to suffer a fatal twist of fate with Hummer.
In the lawsuit, Howe’s stepchildren described Jenner as “reckless, negligent, and reckless. “
“I know you all think it’s nice to compare a fatal turn of fate to a BRUTAL MURDER. . . ,” Jenner wrote in X on Friday, “But remember. . . OJ said something like. . . I can just kill her (Nicole) and get away with it because I’m #OJSimpson.
Jenner had already made the same claim in 2021, when she claimed on a podcast that Simpson once told Nicole Brown Simpson that she would end her life and get away with it. “Obviously, he did, and they gave him away, and at one point he even said to Nicole, ‘I’m going to kill you and get away with it, because I’m O. J. Simpson,'” Jenner told the podcast host.
In the trial of the century, Simpson accused and later acquitted his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, of the murder.
