Caffè Nero will open its first self-service store this spring

Described as a prototype store, the 1,200sq ft drive-thru will become a template for further drive-thru stores in the future from the coffee house brand. It will be located 500 yards from the main terminal building on the main road into and out of the airport, designed to provide a convenient option for anyone dropping off or collecting passengers or those on their way to or from longer term parking.

In addition to providing a drive-thru service, the new venue is described through the café’s logo as a “drive-in” destination with a design feature that includes “stylish seating and lighting” and excellent dining offerings and will be open 24 hours a day. day.

It will be built from scratch with a bespoke design for the location at a cost of £1.2m.

The new site will expand Caffè Nero’s partnership with Stansted Airport, taking the total number of sites it has at the airport to five.
