During a recent media briefing, Cadillac executives announced their intention to exhibit an electric vehicle with V-Series performance upgrades later this year, and we think it may be based on the Lyriq, Cadillac’s first electric vehicle.
Cadillac executives said that “functionality is a component of the promise of the Cadillac logo” and that the automaker “will offer variants of functionality, regardless of the rear-wheel drive [type of]. “They continued to verify their plans for an electric sports vehicle. , stating that they intend to show an “interpretation of what a V-Series would look like as an electric vehicle” later this year.
This suggests that we can expect a design or concept to appear, but we have a feeling that something more extensive may be presented.
Cadillac’s V-Series cars have been impressive, but so far no official confirmation has been provided of the performance department’s continued lifestyles in the electric age. In 2021, Cadillac said it would only sell electric cars until 2030, and since the Lyriq was the one that started the Caddy’s electric revolution, it makes sense that it would be the first to get the V-Series treatment.
In fact, the automaker said something like that was under attention when the Lyriq was unveiled in 2021. Last year, it showed off a faster Lyriq by adding a Lyriq-V option to the 2024 Cadillac accessories site.
Of course, it’s possible that Cadillac will surprise us with something different.
Last year, Cadillac introduced three electric vehicles: the Escalade IQ, the Optiq and the Vistiq. The former turns out to be an excellent candidate for high-performance editing for several reasons.
For starters, the gas-powered Escalade already has a high-performance V variant with a supercharged V8, and it may ease the transition to EVs if the first V-Series EV is an existing product. On the other hand, the GMC Hummer EV’s three-motor all-wheel-drive formula (capable of generating up to 1,000 horsepower) turns out to be the best compatibility for the popular Escalade IQ.
