Cadillac Lyriq revealed: date, interior, value and more

Cadillac just introduced its first all-electric SUV: the Lyriq. Built on a new logo architecture and presented as a revival of the mythical logo, the Lyriq is a General Motors vehicle, and is unlike any previous Cadillac, both indoors and outdoors.

Here we will express percentage everything you want to know about one of the most exciting electric cars on the horizon, from the moment you can order a Lyriq to the type of autonomy, functionality and autonomous driving functions it will offer.

The Lyriq may not be available until 2022 and Cadillac remains price-down, and only says it will start at less than $75,000.

The ambiguity of the charge is not surprising, since it is still a long time before the first examples begin to succeed in customers. However, Cadillac says that the vehicle you see in the photographs provided here represents between 80% and 85% of the appearance of the final production model.

Cadillac claims a 300-mile diversity for the Lyriq, which is comparable to the Performance edition of the Tesla Model X, about 50 miles from Tesla’s largest crossover Long Range Plus configuration.

The core of this long-range force comes from GM’s new Ultium battery architecture, based on the use of the fewest larger capacity battery cells. Cadillac says this technique will keep prices low. And because it’s modular, it will probably tell the rest of GM’s electric vehicle offerings in other chassis styles.

The Ultium battery formula is also said to be an integral component of the Lyriq’s structure, which contributes to vehicle rigidity and therefore overall performance. It helps the Lyriq achieve a perfectly balanced weight distribution of 50/50 and helps keep the center of gravity low for longer turns. There will be an all-wheel drive edition with two engines and a rear-wheel-drive variant.

The Lyriq supports LEVEL 1 and 2 up to 19 kW AC charging, for home charging and public DC fast charging up to 150 kW. GM has partnered with EVgo to supply Lyriq homeowners with a national charging network, and EVgo is supplied for fast DC charging.

By far, the Cadillac Lyriq is a two-row horny SUV, not unique to the Cadillac’s giant angular team. Only when you manipulate the Lyriq are you informed that this is not your regular Cadillac.

The grille, soft accessories and emblem are adorned with LEDs that light up smoothly as you head to the car, immersing yourself in the futuristic vision of the Lyriq. And the sloping back provides Lyriq’s sportiesiesiesl lines that set it apart from classic SUVs and more boxers, with giant tail fittings extending two feet to the C-stand. The Lyriq runs on giant 22-inch wheels, and the long, wide position gives it an imposing look.

Inside, the Lyriq’s board is governed by a huge 33-inch screen that extends from where it met the driver’s board along the center. The guide wheel is not made up of buttons at all: the controls are illuminated on a black piano surface with LED, and the scroll wheels and buttons are scalloped with annoying edges, giving it an impressive aesthetic.

One of the Lyriq’s most attractive and unique internal main points is its “jeweler” garage tray under the center console, which is gently revealed and covered with blue fabric. In the GM reveal video, there is a smartphone inside the tray, which perhaps indicates that this area can rate your devices wirelessly.

The Lyriq will bring Cadillac’s Super Cruise autonomous driving technology, which is already available in the brand’s newest models, adding the 2021 Escalade. Super Cruise has lately been classified as a ‘Level 2’ system, which means drivers deserve to be alert to what’s happening on the road, even if they can take their hands off the steering wheel when situations permit.

However, by the time the Lyriq reaches the showrooms, Super Cruise can move to level 3 range, which will require driving eye to eye all the time. The Lyriq is supplied with generation for automatic lane adjustments and can also be parked remotely.

The Lyriq’s front demonstration uses augmented truth and data provided through the car’s assisted driving sensors. This means that when performing a lane change, for example, the head up demonstration can show an arrow on the road from its point of view, demonstrating the action the vehicle is about to take before starting its trajectory.

As for its interior, the Lyriq will use a 19 speaker co-designed with AKG.

The road to Lyriq production is long, so it may be a while before Cadillac displays data such as pricing, precise figures for functionality, and more detailed options.

That said, the Lyriq is a vehicle that we, and probably the rest of the world, will be watching closely. It represents the direction the automotive industry is taking, not only in terms of electrification, but also in terms of internal technology, autonomous driving and design. Look at this space, as we will continue to update this center with news about Lyriq as soon as it becomes available.
