Home ‘Interesting’ Cadillac Lyriq EV will face BMW, Audi and Tesla
August 7, 2020/3 minutes of reading
They mock BMW for being a little behind in the global electrification. While many other high-end brands have all-electric fashion cars on the road, BMW’s only full electric vehicle is the i3 and call it outdated is to fall short. However, compared to Cadillac, BMW is almost at the forefront. The prominent American luxury automaker has just announced its first all-electric car, the Cadillac Lyriq EV, and while it turns out it may be competitive in this existing market, it won’t make its debut until after this existing generation of electric vehicles. cars are obsolete.
Yesterday, Cadillac introduced the Lyriq as an EV crossover designed to compete with cars such as the BMW iNEXT, Audi e-tron and, of course, the Tesla Model X.Si debuted in the coming months, its specifications would be incredible. . However, Cadillac says it may not go on sale until 2022.
To be honest, the Cadillac Lyriq EV is a charming crossover. The strange taillight surrounding the C mount doesn’t look good, but the rest is pretty good and looks like an EV, which is fine. The interior also looks quite high-tech, although it’s a bit boring. Overall, however, it is a commendable task and would probably be a competitive car if it were on sale now. But it is not for sale at this time and for as long as you do your deyet in 2022, it will be too little and too late.
The Cadillac Lyriq EV will be popular with a hundred kWh battery and a single engine on the rear axle, with an optional two-engine propulsion system with four-wheel drive. It’s a big battery, so they say it has a diversity of three hundred miles, which is very smart and would be just a time for the most diverse Teslas. However, BMW, Audi and Tesla will already have more than three hundred electric miles on sale until the Lyriq EV makes its debut. This will seem obsolete even before it succeeds in showrooms. In addition, it is unlikely to succeed in the three-hundred-mile brand, as electric cars never achieve the reported numbers.
Cadillac offers a charging speed of 150 kW, which is pretty good. For now. There are already several cars on the market that can have a power of 150 kW. The BMW iX3, Audi e-tron and Tesla can reach up to 150 kW. So, until the end of 2022, anything for sale is likely to have an even higher loading speed than that.
In its defense, the Lyriq EV will feature new assists in Cadillac’s super-cruise semi-autonomous driving, which is very impressive in its current state. He may be the leader of autonomous driving in his early days. However, this is a long way off because the autonomous generation may have been radically replaced until 2022. To make matters worse, Cadillac is calling for a release until the end of 2022, so in at least two years and we know there will be several exciting developments. electric cars on the road until then.
If the Cadillac Lyriq EV hit the road right now, it would be a perfect EV crossover. For God’s sake, even if it went on sale next year, it would be competitive. But until the end of 2022, which means it will go on sale in 2023, it will always be in an old position. To be honest, I wonder if it will ever go on sale. Cadillac has the ability to throw attractive concepts and never generate them. So, when you’re in a sales position, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if GM provided the axe to the Lyriq, because of its lack of competitiveness.
As an American, I personally need Cadillac to succeed. It would be wonderful to feel some pride in the cars my country offers. The challenge is that Cadillac, however wonderful its engineers, helps keep shooting in the foot by launching lukewarm products or simply delivering smart products too late. It is to be hoped that Cadillac will be able to make smart moves in the electric vehicle market for the next few years, but it doesn’t look like the Lyriq is one of them. If that’s what GM can do best, you have no chance of opposing BMW, Tesla, Audi or even Nissan and Ford.
