He’s helmed countless successful projects on both the racing and the performance automotive side of things — including Cadillac’s recent hybrid hypercar program in endurance racing.
“I am extremely pleased to have the opportunity to build and lead the team that will bring an F1 American F1 unit to the network,” O’Blenes said in a press release.

When addressing Motor1 at the beginning of last year, O’blenes said that “it is not surprising” to listen to that Cadillac sought to build his own Formula 1 works program and that he “the next herbal step” of the GM racing program after his GTP GTP Hypercar program.
