Climate Action spokesman Almaguin said that so far, seven electric cars (EVs) will be on outdoor display at Armour, Ryerson and Burk’s Falls Memorial Arena as part of a public meeting on electrification later this month.
Al Bottomley says the vehicles will be a Tesla and a Chevy Volt.
The meteorological organization this year pressured the municipalities of Almaguín to transfer their cars with internal combustion engines to electric ones by replacing existing cars and trucks.
EV owners will be at the Nov. 30 event to answer questions about the functionality of their vehicles and any issues they’ve encountered.
“And they can also take you for a walk so you can see how they feel,” Bottomley said.
Bottomley and other members of Climate Action Almaguin advocated for a strong desire to move away from fossil fuels to reduce greenhouse fuel emissions.
They hold outdoor protests at Almaguin’s post offices to raise awareness about how the world is destroying the environment, but there are tactics to counter this damage.
Bottomley says the protests will continue.
Bottomley says electric cars have come a long way since they were first proposed.
Among the innovations are batteries that power cars that Bottomley says are now less expensive and offer longer range on a single charge.
He adds that the Tesla owner helps keep track of what the electric vehicle has charged him and estimates that in seven years the Tesla will be self-financing because the owner will not incur expenses related to gasoline vehicles.
The presentation of the vehicle is followed by a presentation in the arena.
Bottomley says time substitution will be debated if it is genuine or false.
Instead, the presentation will be about new battery technologies, tactics to disconnect from the grid to force their vehicles and force storage.
Bottomley believes there is an opportunity to expand a charging kit that uses solar panels as a power source.
Once charged, the kit would be used to recharge the vehicle’s battery.
Bottomley says that if an entrepreneur can figure out how to do something like this, they probably won’t challenge the existing hydroelectric grid and the person will make a lot of money.
Bottomley says he doesn’t have an electric vehicle but is racing to get one.
He hopes that as more electric cars are made in the U. S. In the U. S. , Canada leads Americans with the most electric cars made in Canada.
He adds that of the seven main members of the local weather action group, one has a Tesla and the other a hybrid.
The Nov. 30 assembly will also discuss the types of electric cars available, tips on how the public can take action to decrease our carbon dioxide production, and how to drive Canada’s RV revolution.
The presentation of the electric vehicles with their owners will take place at 6:30 p. m. , followed by the presentation in the lobby of the arena at 7:00 p. m.
The upcoming assembly is the first of two that Bottomley and his plan have hosted.
An upcoming assembly will talk about how homes and buildings can be heated with the non-fossil fuel sources on display.
“We are part of the challenge and, even more, part of the solution,” Bottomley said.
