For the third time this season, the NASCAR Cup Series will host a double weekend, this time at Dover International Speedway.
Dover is an exclusive track, nicknamed Monster Mile, and many drivers think it will be a weekend inside the car, the ultimate physique of the year. There’s also a lot of exclusivity this weekend: Drydene is the sponsor of the race for the Cup races and the two NASCAR Xfinity Series races, as well as the sponsor of 4 race cars between the two divisions. Impressive!
Back to building your optimal range, however, there will be a combination of good luck at Dover and drivers who will see whatever this weekend is.
Remember how the first two cups double this year? Harvick won both, most recently dominating the Michigan International Speedway towards the weekend sweep.
No, Harvick doesn’t drive the same car as in Michigan, however, his dovers are pretty good, especially since joining Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014. In the 12 stages on Monster Mile in the No. 4 car, he set the pace for 1298 laps. Pretty dominant.
Harvick starts Saturday’s race from 10th place, meaning there’s almost a 0% chance he’ll lose trouble by wasting his position at the end, having scored 19 top 10 in 23 races this season. He has also led at least 201 laps in 4 of his last 11 runway. Certainly, this weekend, the races are 311 laps, the typical 400.
There will be at least two special things about Dover for Truex; this is the site of his first victory and legitimately his home circuit.
All this aside, Truex is handmade on the Monster Mile, especially recently, with six top four scores in its last seven races on the track. In the same period, he led 487 laps, more than part of his total laps driven to Dover.
Spoiler: Truex is my pick to win the first race of the weekend, and it wouldn’t be unexpected for it to sweep the weekend. After all, team No. 19 has five consecutive third spots, which is a fairly rare feat. The challenge here is that it starts third, but on the other hand, it means you can temporarily locate the blank air and get out.
Well, I’ll be honest, those numbers are very impressive in Dover. But Dillon is returning to the series after testing positive for COVID-19 ahead of last weekend’s race en route at Daytona International Speedway.
Never leading an excursion is a fear here. But what is is that Dillon will start the race from 32rd place, and is very likely to improve his problems in general at the end of the day to be finished upstairs. In thirteen starts at Dover, he has two finals worse than 32, the last in 2016.
Will Dillon give you the highest broadcasts on Saturday? Yaya. But deep on the ground makes it a choice.

Kenseth’s pass back to the Cup Series did not go as planned this season, replacing Kyle Larson in car No. 42. God, I think there’s a chance he’ll make it to the problem playoffs before the nasautomobile reboot. Boy, am I wrong?
In 19 races this season, Kenseth finished moment at the Brickyard 400 and tenth on his season debut at Darlington Raceway. That’s all for the most sensible 10. But anything about Kenseth and Dover that’s the best combination.
More recently, Kenseth won on the court in 2016, in a thrilling war with Larson and Chase Elliott. I don’t expect the 48-year-old driver to come out and win this weekend, however, after a disappointing race at Daytona, he starts at 26th and will be on his team from that point. Remember which car was the last time NASCAR visited Dover last October? The Chevrolet No. 42.
When the NASCAR season restarted in mid-May, Nemechek recorded one end after another, winning a top 10 at Darlington. But in the last seven races, the Ford No. 38 has four dropouts, which is alarming.
However, Nemechek has shown this season that going blind on the track uneducated or unclassified to prepare for his first start has not been a bad thing. He revels heavily in Dover in NASCAR’s declining divisions, and recently completed eighth place in last fall’s Xfinity race.
Nemechek may be an ambitious pick for Saturday, but Front Row Motorsports has stepped up in its game in 2020. Besides, he starts at 31st and will probably run better than that.
Don’t be fooled by the average LaJoie to Dover, you’ve run with underfunded gadgets and you’ll do it this weekend with Go Fas Racing. But the fact that it’s Saturday 29th and worth $5,000, less than Joey Gase, Reed Sorenson, Garrett Smithley and BJ McLeod, all in a less-funded device, is criminal.
Dover is a track on which LaJoie has had good fortune in NASCAR’s declining divisions, winning the NASCAR K-N Pro Series East race in 2012. He also finished sixth in the Xfinity race in 2016, competing for JGL Racing with insufficient funds.
At just $5,000, LaJoie is a selection of underfunded prices for this weekend.
