General Motors brought the Buick Encore GX for the 2020 style year as a “subcompact plus” offering, highlighting the new access between the Subcompact Buick Encore and the Buick Envision compact with respect to the brand’s crossover range. According to a new automotive news report, the Encore GX is about to surpass the smallest yet as the best-selling Buick style in the United States.
Prior to the debut of the Buick Encore GX 2020, General Motors revised still standard diversity with relief in cutting grades, eliminating the FWD Preferred II 1SD, AWD Preferred II 1SD, FWD Premium 1SN and AWD Premium 1SN Style with 2019 style change. Now, with its widest variety of options, cutting grades and an initial value of $900 more than the popular Encore, the Encore GX is the most cost-effective style.
In addition, the “subcompact-plus” size of the Buick Encore GX gives you an attractive position in the small, differently crowded crossover segment that consumers responded to.
“We focused on this area between the area of small high-end SUVs and the declining area of compact SUVs,” said Rob Peterson, Buick’s chief marketing officer. According to the recent Automotive News report, Peterson said GM believes positioning can allow the industry to rise 1.5 million more sales.
“We believe we have the right product to have compatibility and get the volume we want for Buick to succeed,” Peterson said.
Some distributors expect the Buick Encore GX to outperform the Encore in terms of volume very soon. Bob Simmons, executive general manager of LaFontaine Cadillac Buick GMC of Highland, LaFontaine Buick GMC of Lansing and LaFontaine Buick GMC of Ann Arbor, told Automotive News that he expects a combination of 60/40 sales between the Buick Encore GX and the Buick Encore. Respectively.
Despite the naming similarities, the Buick Encore GX 2020 is absolutely different from the popular Encore. The Buick Encore GX travels on the VSS-F vehicle set, while the Buick Encore 2020 rides on the GM Gamma 2 platform. The Buick Encore GX offers two engine options, the turbocharged 1.2 L LIH and the turbocharged 1.3 L L3T, while the popular Encore is only available with the turbocharged 1.4 L I4 LUV.
Then there are the differences in style, weight differences and differences in dimensions, everything that GM Authority has covered for a long time in previous articles.
That said, the models are produced at GM’s plant in Bupyeong, South Korea.

I was surprised by some of the features presented through the Buick Encore GX 2020, such as parallel automatic parking, because Buick made the decision to release a TELEVISION ad to announce this feature; Sales can only be if Buick advertises to advertise their vehicles, as small things like parallel automatic parking can make all the difference if you buy a car.
Built in Korea. Don’t say any more.
I agree. Obviously, they know how to build cars in Korea in those days. Good for them.
Korean cars are here. Exceptional reliability, driving dynamics, production quality … all this top-notch. GM Korea joins brands such as KIA and Hyundai as a remarkable value. I own a new Chevrolet Spark and I’m incredibly in the vehicle. I have owned many Honda and Toyota and the Spark is a company against the Japanese competition. In fact, my brothers have been buying Hyundais and KIA for ten years and continue to buy them. Bulletproof, reliable and of excellent value.
Except that my broker helps me continue to be scared/reminds me that the Encore GX 2021 I ordered to manufacture at the factory in mid-July will not arrive here before “end of year”, that is, in December! Freeloader!
Couldn’t they have made another call to the last call to minimize the confusion between the two?
GMO marketing turns out to be the curve.
My Encore 2015 has $3000 of challenges that occurred after the 4-year warranty. Less than 25,000 miles. A turbo challenge from which many owners and refrigerant leaks, etc. communicate. And I think it’s the ultimate “reliable” Buicks.
Come to Toyota when you can.
It’s smart to see that this style sells so well, now they have to drag a bigger and harder style to GMC. Turns out they have the right formula, but those possible engine options will allow me to take a look at other options.
