Irwin from the back of the grid after failing in Saturday’s first race when he crashed on the first lap. The 25-year-old from the back of the grid in this race after being penalized for an incident involving Josh Brookes at Donington Park, which also resulted in Irwin’s exclusion from the effects of the third race after completing at the time.

The former driving force of the World Supersport won the first two races of the season in Donington, but fell to sixth place after two successive abandonments.

Brookes of Australia led the highest of Sunday’s race at VisionTrack Ducati after ahead of Glenn Irwin Pole in the third round.

Tommy Bridewell (Oxford Ducati) finished the podium ahead of Lee Jackson at the Kawasaki Massingberd-Mundy. His teammate Danny Buchan crashed into Ago’s space after hitting the back of Bradley Ray’s BMW. Ray crashed into the box as a result and finished in tenth place.

Saturday’s race winner Christian Iddon (VisionTrack Ducati) finished fifth with Kyle Ryde completing the 10 most sensible in the Suzuki Buildbase.

Jack Kennedy finished 13th with the Yamaha Santander Salt TAG, while Brian McCormack of southern Ireland finished 21st with the BMW ON-1 Roadhouse Macau.

Ulsterman Irwin now leads the championship through 18 issues ahead of Bridewell before Sunday’s third race (16:30 BST). Brookes is third in the standings, 4 more problems behind.

In the National Superstock 1000 race, David Allingham finished 15th in InCompetition Aprilia. The race won through Tom Neave of Honda Racing, whose teammate Davey Todd finished seventh. The Isle of Man TT driver, Ian Hutchinson, crossed the finish line in 12th place with the 1902 BMW Edwards, while Dean Harrison on 21st with his own Kaaki.

Rhys Irwin finished in the Superstock 600 race grandstand in third place, with Simon Reid in sixth place ahead of Adam McLean. Sam Laffins and Eugene McManus finished 11th and 12th respectively.

Casey O’Gorman of Portlaoise, now in London, won the British Talent Cup’s race of the moment in a ultimate canopy with Eddie O’Shea and Harvey Claridge, the trio split for just 0.051s.

Cameron Dawson finished fifth in the first Junior Supersport race at the Kawasaki KMR.
