Body Discovered in Trunk of Fire on Chicago’s South Side

CHICAGO (CBS) — An investigation is underway in Chicago’s Bridgeport community after a frame was discovered in the trunk of a burning car.

CBS 2’s Mugo Odigwe was on hand all day to piece together what we know so far about this discovery.

They said they had no idea that a burning car had been found in that alley overnight or that a frame had been found in the trunk of that car, near South Parnell and West 37th Street.

Chicago police said the call came in shortly after 2 a. m. m. La Chicago police and firefighters responded. When they arrived at the scene, they found a burning car in the alley.

Firefighters had to extinguish the flames.

However, the investigation discovered a frame in the trunk of the car. The DPC said the user was pronounced dead at the scene.

At the moment it is known precisely who this user is or how he died.
