Let’s face it, we all expect the BMW G 310 twins to present themselves at a higher value, however, what we didn’t expect is a value that surprises us all. The Bavarian cyclist has placed the duo as “high-end entry level” motorcycles with an exorbitant value. A value of Rs 2.99 lakh and Rs 3.49 lakh (both ex-showroom in India) for the G 310 R and GS respectively a little too high. However, the German manufacturer has controlled the combination of impressive numbers over the past six months.
BMW Motorrad India sold 2,187 games in six months in 2018, more than 75% of which arrived here from the G 310 twins. They surprise you, don’t they? To put things in perspective, their rivals, the RR 310 and KTM 390 TVS, which offer similar or superior functionality at an affordable price, have controlled selling on average about three hundred sets and 500 sets (per month) respectively, while the BMWs spin. 270 systems a month. It’s true that sales are far from similar to KTM’s, those numbers aren’t that bad for recent bikes.
What the G 310 brothers have for them is BMW’s premium badge and quality. In addition, the company never sought to have interaction in the game of numbers, as the maximum of other logos. Instead, he sought to create his own identity as a premium logo. And, at first glance, the logo has been successful to some extent.
I will only show that while India is a price-sensitive market, some consumers are willing to stretch their budget for a quality product, even if that means wasting absolute performance. In addition, those entry-level motorcycles give aspiring BMW enthusiasts a price ticket to enter the elite BMW owners club at an affordable price. The German two-wheel manufacturer also brought year-end discounts and insurance donations in 2018, helping them attract more consumers.
The BMW G 310 twins will be delivering good enough performance. There’s no way they’re frantic like the KTM 390 or even designed as sporty as the Apache RR 310 TVS. It also shows that consumers are willing to live without whimsical elements, such as a colorful shoe and TFT display, as long as the fundamental requirements are met.
With only nine dealers up and running, the company can only serve a limited number of consumers in India. Including the foreign market, he effectively deployed his 50,000 G 310 motorcycle from his Hosur plant in Chennai last month. For its sales figures in India, the company will want to expand its success by opening more concessions across the country. Use exceptional after-sales service and the number of BMW twins on the road can increase smoothly.
