Our driving test of the BMW five4fiveth 2021 is underway and the review is expected to be released on August 12. But until then, we will offer you a large image gallery of the lacheck plug-in hybrid in Munich. When it was unveiled last month, the revamped BMW Five Series also brought innovations in the propulsion system and updated plug-in hybrids.
Starting this fall, this new BMW 545th PHEV variant will only be available with xDrive and will be reserved only for the Sedan chassis. The new 545th xDrive borrows its powertrain on the 745th and X5 xDrive45e and features no less than 394 hp (388 hp).
The new BMW 545th xDrive Sedan is powered by a 6-cylinder petrol engine that develops a force of 210 kW / 286 hp (282 hp). The hybrid architecture also uses an electric motor with a force of 80 kW / 109 hp (108 hp).
The petrol-electric duo combines the combined strength of the plug-in hybrid formula at a peak of 290 kW / 394 hp (388 hp). The maximum torque developed reaches a peak of six hundred Nm (442 lb-ft) that is delivered to the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive chassis, thanks to the 8-speed Steptronic transmission. The new 545th xDrive sedan is capable of operating in purely electric mode between 54 and 57 kilometers (34 to 35 miles) according to WLTP.

Finally, the five4fiveth xDrive will be supplied with the popular BMW eDrive zones. When the formula detects that the five Series plug-in hybrid style enters a designated BMW eDrive area, it switches to all-electric operating mode.
If you live in the United States, unfortunately the BMW 545th will be available. BMW North America has shown long-term plans to bring this exciting plug-in hybrid into this look of the puddle.
For now, let’s take advantage of the merit of this photo gallery and keep an eye out for our trip:
