Bedrock has images and surveys conducted on its downtown real estate portfolio

Dan Gilbert’s real estate firm has conducted detailed topographical surveys and photographs for its extensive portfolio of buildings in downtown Detroit.

Crews from Menemsha, a Los Angeles-area company, have been visiting buildings in downtown Bedrock in recent days to conduct research and take “passing photo” photos.

Bedrock representatives responded Monday to inquiries about the visits, adding whether the images and surveys would be used for marketing efforts related to the properties.

A Bedrock asset manager recently told Bedrock tenants in an email that Menemsha would be in Detroit “to scan and document all of our listings and suites within the Bedrock portfolio. “

Bedrock is the largest owner in the downtown domain and owns or controls more than one hundred homes in its portfolio, totaling more than 18 million square feet. Downtown buildings include the First National Building, The Qube (formerly known as Chase Tower), Chrysler House, and the partially owned One Campus Martius, which is the headquarters of Gilbert’s Rocket Companies.

Bedrock recently faced significant cost overruns on two new large-scale structure projects: the $1. 4 billion Hudson progression and the $597 million Wayne County Criminal Justice Center whose construction is under contract with the county.

The Free Press is a tenant of Bedrock at 160 W. Fort St. , the former branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and the construction of the 1951 eight-story branch annex designed by World Trade Center architect Minoru Yamasaki.
