Aurora, Continental and Nvidia Socio to expand the driverless trucks

Aurora, Continental and Nvidia have announced a long -term strategic association to display force trucks without reasons without reasons, fed through the new generation Nvidia Thidia system (SOC). Drive Thor and Driveos de Nvidia will be incorporated into the motor force of Aurora, an autonomous driving formula of point four SAE that supplies mass production in 2027.

Aurora aims to deliver the benefits of autonomous generation across safety, temporarily and largely to make shipping safer, increasingly available, and more reliable and effective than ever before. Aurora Motive Force is an autonomous formula designed to run various types of cars, from freight forwarding trucks to passenger cars through driving, and supports Aurora’s driver products as a service for trucks and walks.

“Delivering one driverless truck will be monumental. Deploying thousands will change the way we live,” said Chris Urmson, CEO and co-founder at Aurora. “NVIDIA is the market leader in accelerated computing, and they’ll strengthen our ecosystem of partners and our ability to deliver safe and reliable driverless trucks to our customers at scale.”

“The development, industrialization, and production of hard standalone hardware on an advertising scale requires exclusive and unknown expertise,” said Aruna Anand, president and CEO of Continental North America Automotive. Our industry collaboration with Aurora and Nvidia to deliver Continental No-Drive Truck Stations to the forefront of this cutting-edge generation and will drive the price of our business. “

“The combination of NVIDIA’s automotive-grade DRIVE Thor platform with Aurora’s advanced self-driving trucking technology and Continental’s manufacturing and integration expertise is set to help drive the future of autonomous trucking, helping make roads safer while driving up operational efficiency,” said Rishi Dhall, vice president of automotive at NVIDIA.

Aurora is in the final stages of validating Aurora’s Motive Force for motive-free operations on public roads. Aurora’s motive force is supplied with a PC and difficult sensors, adding the LiDAR, radar and cameras, allowing it to operate safely at highway speeds. Check AI allows Aurora’s motive force to temporarily adapt to new operational spaces while being validated in the case of Aurora Security, a tool for regulatory trust and public acceptance. Aurora plans to launch its Forcess Motive-free truck service in Texas in April 2025.

NVIDIA will force the main PC of the Aurora controller with a dual nvidia Drive Thor SoC configuration running Driveos. Drive Thor, based on the Nvidia Blackwell architecture, is designed to increase the inference responsibilities that are imperative for self-driving cars to perceive and navigate the global around them. As continental and Aurora prepare to make giant-scale standalone hardware in 2027, so much action now: Drive Thor production samples will arrive in the first part of 2025.

Continental is one of the main automotive suppliers worldwide. The company employs around 200,000 people in 56 countries and markets, generating 2023 sales of 41. 4 billion euros. Continental develops a reliable, usable and successful generation of the Aurora’s reasons for reasons, specifically for the production of higher volume. The company also develops an independent specialized secondary formula that can take charge for a failure in the main PC of the Motor Force of Aurora. With the start of the planned production by 2027, Continental will verify the prototypes of the long -term curtain kit in the coming months. Continental then leads Thor with Driveos on the main PC of Aurora in its production comforts and sends the entire curtain kit to Aurora Oem Truck Partners for integration in visiting trucks.

During this week’s 2025 consumer electronics show in Las Vegas, the Continental Expo presentations are early prototype of Aurora’s motive force apparatus via Continental and Volvo VNL Autonomous – the flagship style of Volvo’s autonomous technology platform that is designed to have been perfectly compatible with the Aurora motive power.

According to data from the CES program, other developers of automated driving systems that are presented to those 2025 are more, Volvo Group, Waymo, Weride and Zoox. These corporations are beyond the exciting days of yesteryear when the query “is it possible to deploy autonomous driving across protection on public roads?”While many corporations have fallen by the wayside in the insurance years, those that remain, by and large, pass on the driverless generation capable of products on a scale.

In fact, 2025 turns out to be the escape year for autonomous driving, tantalizingly evolving into a full-fledged hype for autonomous trucks. Not just Aurora: Gatik reported “cargo” deployments in early 2025.

Meanwhile, ride-hailing with driverless vehicles continues to gain momentum. It’s significant that Aurora is signaling a future which includes rail-hailing as well as trucking. If so, they will be unique in the U.S. by covering both use cases.
