Audi’s sporty design icon goes electric. The electric replacement for the Audi TT will be absolutely exclusive to the existing petrol model.
Although Audi retired its iconic TT with a year-old Roadster Final Edition, the sports coupe is making a comeback in all-electric form.
The new electric vehicle will have another call but will take a place in the Audi range. Audi spokesperson Daniel Shuster told Autocar: “We take a blank sheet of paper to see what the right type of ‘icon’ is.
Shuster explained that “it’s not about looking at what we have now and saying ‘it would be great to make it electric. ‘This would be a wonderful addition to the lineup. “
The spokesperson explained the importance of differentiating RS models, highlighting the need for an “icon at the top. “
Rolf Michl, CEO of Audi Sport GmbH, admitted that creating a successor is a “huge job” but that the automaker “doesn’t need to lose existing customers. “
