Many companies, adding Tesla, are executing tactics to allow homes to generate electricity independently, buy it and use it to force electric vehicles, with the most of those projects to make battery-based solar panels and home force garage a non-unusual technology. This is the basis of Tesla’s approach, which has developed solar tiles that look more like traditional tiles, which can generate electric power to force your home and electric vehicle.
But what about the opposite: a car to force your home?
Audi works with that generation, a generation that will allow an electric vehicle to lend its battery to a house by offering electric power to your home. And this is called bidirectional charging.
How much juice can an electric vehicle provide? The car manufacturer says a vehicle like the Audi e-tron can force an indifferent space for about a week with its battery fully charged.
“The concept is as undeniable as it is brilliant: the electric car’s high-voltage battery is not only charged through the house wall box, but can also supply power to the house as a decentralized garage medium,” Audi says. “If the visitor has a photovoltaic system, the electric car serves as a transient garage medium for the ecoelectric energy produced. When the sun no longer shines, the vehicle can supply electrical energy stored in the house. Two-way home charging: also known as Vehicle to Home (V2H): it has a wonderful perspective to reduce owners’ electricity prices and increase network stability”.
This technique would also eliminate the need for fuel-based backup turbines that are activated power outages caused by damaged or blizzard power lines: your electric vehicle will be able to force your home for several days if needed.
If this turns out to be an undeniable application of existing technology, the truth is that it is not so undeniable and preferably requires a house formula that generates its own energy, in the form of solar panels and a battery garage unit of the house.
“What is undeniable in theory requires a higher point of technical intelligence and coordinated interaction between the other technical parts in terms of infrastructure and in the vehicle in practice,” says the automaker. “An Audi e-tron with a nearby serial load generation used in the study project. In the check grid, the all-electric Audi style worked with a DC wall box, allowing for a charging capacity of up to 12 kW and a capacity to expand the home garage unit with a capacity of nine kWh”.
How does Audi believe other genuine people using two-way charging? Nominally, as a component of a house that already produces some of its own electric power and can use the car battery for the garage over-strength which you cannot use immediately, which you can then use during peak hours when the grid’s electric power usage would be more expensive. The car battery can also force all space when the speed in the normal network is high and when the power costs increase. During times when rates are low, the car may use reasonable electric power to revalue.
Needless to say, these benefits rely heavily on peak-hour prices and require an automated formula to make decisions about what to do and when. Audi recognizes that bidirectional charging is a component of a solar power generation formula for total space that can exchange electric power with the car and with the house at will, probably in an automated manner. We suspect that electricity for homes deserves to be much more appreciated by homeowners in order to constantly manage the power entry of their home and car to save money.
While bidirectional charging is a promising generation that can make homes more self-sufficient, we suspect that what is not more unusual first, in addition to electric vehicles, are the homes that generate their own electricity. And this is all that is still coming to the mainstream, despite a strong build-up in the adoption of solar panels.
