When it comes to electric car technology, Tesla is way ahead of virtually every manufacturer. The public turns out to know this, as we know in the media and apparently Audi CEO Markus Duesmann, also knows, according to a report published Friday through Automotive News.
In the report, Duesmann admits that Audi is at least two years the Big T in terms of the computing force of its cars, as well as autonomous driving technology, which is not extraordinarily unexpected given that Audi has only driven super hard towards electrification for about five years. “Currently, Tesla has larger batteries because its cars are built around batteries. Tesla is two years ahead in terms of IT architecture and software, as well as autonomous driving,” Duesmann said in a statement to German Handelsblatt.
Now, Audi is too depressed about Tesla’s technological advancement. We’ve spent a lot of time in the E-Tron SUV and Teslas of all kinds, and when it comes to things like build quality, Audi is years away from Tesla. Duesmann also had more to say to Handelsblatt, this time in relation to Audi’s sales. It expects the company to return to pre-COVID sales figures until 2022 or 2023. This is a big challenge as the company has had a large fortune in sales amid all quarantine efforts in the world.
However, everything is bleak, as while the company sold only 17,000 E-Trons in the first part of 2020, it expects 40,000 games to be delivered to consumers until the end of the year.
