Aston Villa is updating its list of managers amid reports that Thomas Tuchel is not interested in his new boss.
Villa is looking for its next manager after sacking Steven Gerrard following the team’s 3-0 loss to Fulham at Craven Cottage. This result leaves the West Midlands club in 17th place in the Premier League, outside the relegation zone on goal difference.
Mauricio Pochettino is the favourites of existing bookmakers for Villa’s job, with QPR boss Michael Beale, Brentford guyager Thomas Frank and loose agent Sean Dyche also in the draw. However, one guy who doesn’t show up in Villa Park is Tuchel.
As the Telegraph’s Matt Law reports, Tuchel will resist any of Villa’s techniques. The German is believed to have no interest in the task, even if the Premier League team pays massive salaries. He has been unemployed since leaving Chelsea last month.
Hiring Tuchel would be a big blow to Villa. Il won 10 trophies as a manager at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, adding Ligue 1 and Champions League titles, and was named FIFA’s most sensible football coach last year.
