Aston Martin F1 team boss Mike Krack says his team remains “open-minded and dynamic” when it comes to new signings, amid current speculation about Adrian Newey moving to the Silverstone-based team.
On Tuesday, Italian publication Autosprint claimed that a deal between Aston and Newey had been signed and sealed and would be made public after the F1 break.
Rumors about the legendary Red Bull designer moving to Team Silverstone have been circulating for weeks, and time will tell if they turn out to be true.
Meanwhile, Aston Martin has already made significant strides in strengthening its ranks, enlisting the support of former Mercedes engine guru Andy Cowell and Ferrari chassis technical director Enrico Cardile.
However, Krack insists that the team’s recruitment drive is over.
“We’re still in an era of expansion, but I think we want to be open-minded and dynamic, in terms of personnel and car development,” Krack said in an interview on the F1 team’s website.

“It is not a game that rewards consolidation. Obviously, this will have to be built around a solid core. You want to have routines and confidence, and a build that is accepted as true can take a long time, but you deserve to never sit still. “and say “everything is fine”.
“You have to think about what you can do better, what you can change. This doesn’t necessarily mean you are making that change, but you deserve to keep asking yourself the question. We have announced several new members of the control team in recent months.
The team’s impressive start to its 2023 season is now a very distant memory, lost in the fog of its poor performance this year.
Aston Martin currently sits fifth in the F1 constructors’ championship, but 193 ahead of the fourth-placed Mercedes team.
As the team strives to close the gap to its main rivals and prepares for the arrival of Honda engines in 2026, Krack believes a new influx of skill may be the key to unlocking all prospects from the Aston.
“Every time something new comes along, I’m asked, ‘Is this the last piece of the puzzle?’This is not the case. It never is,” he explained.
“We will continue to analyze recruitment, because maybe there are other people who will make us better.
“I say ‘out there’, it is vital that we never have too much skill within the team as we are constantly looking to expand and advance across the organisation.
“We have to look outwards because the organization must continue to be dynamic, it will have to be open to new perspectives.
“But we have to give the team that is already there the opportunity to mature, to become explicit, to migrate naturally to spaces of greater responsibility. “
