Aston Martin, first F1 team to reveal 2023 launch date

Aston Martin F1 has the first F1 team to announce the release date of its 2023 competitor, the AMR23.

The Silverstone-based team is a week away from its holiday, but the team is already sending out invitations for the unveiling of its new car which will take place on Monday 13 February at 19:00 GMT.

The special launch occasion will take place at the new 37,000-square-metre Silverstone campus of the Aston Martin logo, which is expected to be completed next spring.

Aston’s new factory has been dubbed a “game changer” in the team, but only time will tell if its time will follow, or at least allow the team to be a normal competitor for the smartest midfielder.

But Aston’s biggest progression for 2023 is the arrival of two-time F1 world champion Fernando Alonso, who succeeds now-retired Sebastian Vettel.

The 41-year-old Spaniard made his first start with Aston Martin last month at F1 post-season testing in Abu Dhabi. And Alonso felt it had been an honor to get behind the wheel of a car that represented “such an iconic brand. “

“It’s good! It’s a great experience. I revere driving for such an iconic brand,” he said.

“I tried to meet all the mechanics, the engineers and [I’ll try] with a lot of new names, that’s for sure!”

Alonso will be paired with Lance Stroll, who will begin his seventh season in F1 in 2023, his fifth with his father’s team.
