The Aston Martin F1 team has announced a significant change in its direction, appointing Andy Cowell as the group’s new executive leader, effective October 1, 2024. Andy Cowell, hailed for his transformative leadership in Formula 1 engineering, adds his tenure at Mercedes AMG HPP, taking on a role he previously held through Martin Whitmarsh. Whitmarsh will turn over his day jobs to Cowell through the end of the year.
Cowell’s career is notable for its profound impact on F1’s V6 turbo-hybrid era, a tenure in which Mercedes won several drivers’ and constructors’ championships.
