An audience with Lawrence Stroll, Aston Martin’s chief executive, is a memorable occasion.
Most know the Canadian from the Netflix series Drive to Survive, in which he speaks candidly and has a creepy presence, sometimes dressed in the look of a guy you just told you ran over his cat. In person, it’s much warmer; It brings a room to life and stays in the center of it.
The “executive” component of his task name remains an understatement for its practicality, as revealed last week in a conversation with Stroll in Aston’s sublime convention hall at Gaydon.
On the product side, Stroll talked about vehicles; Aston has delayed its plans to launch its car range until 2027, due to a slowdown in demand, which has led to increased investment in PHEVs.
