SmartStop will sponsor Tony Kanaan, 2013 Indianapolis 500 winner and 2004 IndyCar Series champion, at the 107th Indy 500 on May 28 for Arrow McLaren Racing. He made the announcement on Wednesday, April 19.

Kanaan’s No. 66 Chevrolet SmartStop features the No. 66 in honor of McLaren’s first winner at Indy when the vanquished Mark Donohue drove a McLaren to victory in the 1972 Indianapolis 500 for Penske Racing.
It’s the first of Team Penske’s record 18 Indianapolis 500 wins.
Kanaan’s car and sponsor were announced Wednesday in Indianapolis, ahead of the two-day Indianapolis 500 open event scheduled for April 20-21 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Chevrolet No. de Kanaan is one of the team’s four appearances in this year’s Indy 500.

The car’s colors are black and papaya on the chassis with a papaya star surrounding the seat and three black stars along the left rear fender.
According to McLaren, these are a nod to McLaren Racing’s historic Triple Crown, the high-level feat of winning the 3 most prestigious races in motorsport: the Monaco Grand Prix, the Indy 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The reveal of the No. 66 livery completes Arrow McLaren’s series of special liveries for the 2023 Indy 500 and unites the four cars in combination to commemorate McLaren’s Triple Crown. The team introduced the No. 5, No. 6 and No. 6 Chevrolet McLaren. 7 Arrows at an event last week before the Acura Grand Prix of Long B, and the car represents a victory in the Triple Crown race. The livery series is part of McLaren’s 60th anniversary celebrations through 2023, honouring iconic moments in its history and the legacy built through team founder Bruce McLaren.
The No. Chevrolet McLaren SmartStop Arrow will take to the track for the first time at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Open Test, which begins tomorrow, April 20.

Kanaan announced in February that this year’s race would be his last in the NTT IndyCar Series and that he would begin the 22nd Indy 500 of his career with SmartSmost as the presenting spouse and longtime spouse of 7-Eleven.
