WADA thanks the Roadracing World Action Fund and MotoAmerica for the efforts of Desjardins Securities Road Racing

PICKERINGTON, Ohio – With a giant collection of vintage road racing on the schedule for the 2024 Permco AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days presented through Yamaha, taking place July 26-28 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, The American Motorcyclist Association extends its thanks to the Roadracing World Action Fund (RWAF) and MotoAmerica for creating a wonderful road racing program at VMD this year.

“We are very grateful to our friends at RWAF and MotoAmerica for their efforts in road racing at VMD,” said Ken Saillant, director of AMA Track Racing. “RWAF Founder and President John Ulrich and RWAF have shown immense generosity for this event. adding that it allows us to use its comfortable inflatable barriers for VMD road races. “

RWAF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to reducing injuries on racetracks through education and advocating for safer practices on racetracks. Established in 2001, RWAF works with racing and track day organizations to facilitate the deployment of comfort barriers. sometimes throughout the country.

Flexible barriers manufactured through Alpina and Airfence have an internal ambient air chamber supported by inflated ribs. They are designed to be deployed against metal barriers, tire walls, embankments and other hard elements surrounding race tracks. When a cyclist crashes and hits a comfortable barrier, air is expelled through blow-off valves, absorbing energy; Simply put, comfort barriers can be thought of as a giant pre-inflated car airbag.

“Thanks to our generous donors, the Roadracing World Action Fund was able to fund the comfortable Alpina and Airfence barriers assigned to MotoAmerica and deployed at AMA-sanctioned MotoAmerica Superbike events,” said RWAF Founder and President John UlrichArray. “Since the next MotoAmerica circular will be held at Mid-Ohio on August 16-18, those convenient barriers will already be at Mid-Ohio, and I’m pleased that we can allow the AMA to use them for the VMD road races. I am proud that by working with MotoAmerica, the AMA, and other organizations nationwide, we have been able to protect riders and reduce injuries. Together, we have helped make a big difference in the culture of road racing. United States, making attention to powertrain protection not only accepted, but expected.

VMD’s road racing program is about to take place, with 35 categories heading to the 2. 4-mile course to compete for the AMA No. 1. For the first time, AMA Bagger Amateur National Champion will be crowned at the VMD, adding to the exciting roster of races.
