Alfa Romeo builds the first visitor example of the 33 Stradale

Just over a year after the presentation of the sensual supercar, the first visitor example of the modern Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale has been completed.

The car was completed on December 17, the same day in 1966 that Italian designer and coachbuilder Franco Scaglione gave him the task of designing the original 33 Stradale, of which only 18 examples were built between 1967 and 1969.

Its fashionable successor will be built in 33 examples. All buyers are part of an exclusive organization known as Club 33, which was created at the 2022 Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix, where Alfa Romeo first announced its plans for the supercar.

As members of Club 33, the buyers were able to meet with Alfa Romeo’s engineers and designers to help shape the development of the 33 Stradale and request any personal touches.

Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale

The 33 Stradale shares a lot in common with the MC20 supercar from fellow Stellantis brand Maserati, including its carbon-fiber chassis and 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Alfa Romeo actually started work on the car late last decade, when it planned to launch it with a different design as an 8C successor.

Powering the 33 Stradale is a mid-mounted 3. 0-litre twin-turbo V6, which Alfa Romeo says is an evolution of the twin-turbo V6 discovered in models like the Giulia and Stelvio, rather than the MC20 engine. Matrix which is also a 3. 0-liter biturbo V6. The Alfa Romeo engine develops 620 HP, equivalent to the power of the Maserati engine. Drive is sent to the rear wheels only through an electronic limited-slip differential, and Alfa Romeo has claimed 0-60 mph acceleration in under 3 seconds and a top speed of 207 mph.

Alfa Romeo has also promised an electric motor for the 33 Stradale. At last year’s presentation, Alfa Romeo said the electric powertrain would deliver 750 horsepower. However, the automaker did say whether any of the 33 buyers opted for this option. Maserati is also planning an electric edition of the MC20.
