After opening in Ballpark, Safieddine is planning a place to eat in RiNo

François Safieddine’s plans for a RiNo asset he bought last year have come to fruition.

The ViewHouse and Wonderyard Garden Table project, which opened last week near Coors Field, needs to open a new dining spot at 3458 Walnut St. in RiNo, according to plans submitted to the city last week.

The plans call for renovations to the existing 5,800-square-foot construction and imply that the adjacent undeveloped lot would be used as a dining area.

A depiction included in the plans shows two sculptures of hands forming a front of the area and the word “Tulum,” though it’s unclear if that would be the name of the facility. Tulum is a hotel town in Mexico.

The plans drawn up by Boss Architecture bear the call of Lotus Concepts, the parent company of Safieddine’s restaurant chains, which also has Mon Voisin Felix.

Safieddine bought the building and adjacent land in RiNo, where it has no restaurant lately, in May 2023 for $3 million.

While it may seem obvious that he wants to open a restaurant there, Safieddine buys an asset without doing so. It paid $14 million in 2022 for an asset in Cherry Creek, but did not introduce a Lotus concept to the site.

Safieddine responded to a request for comment on Monday. In an emailed statement, a corporate spokeswoman said only that Lotus “looks forward to bringing new power to the region with its long-term concepts. “

Safieddine’s Wonderyard, which opened Friday at 2200 Larimer St. , features a whimsical design, with oversized bird cages and giant pink teacups serving as seating for guests. The construction fell through when Safieddine bought it for $8 million in 2018.

Safieddine also recently got the construction of a vacant eating place in LoDo. And according to Lotus’ website, he plans to open a Noble dining spot at the former Rio Grande Mexican restaurant at 1525 Blake St. , which he acquired in 2022 for $6. 3 million.
