St Kilda striker Tim Membrey achieved a “miraculous” purpose to claim victory over Port Adelaide on Saturday.

With seven minutes remaining in the final quarter, the Saints led 17 problems in the desperate quest for some other primary for safe victory and pushing the team to 3rd place in the standings.

Jack Steele frantically threw the Sherrin towards Membrey near the poles, who threw his boot straight into the air over his head in an ambitious attempt at purpose.

However, football bounces off defender Tom Jonas’ fist from behind.

While the players were ready for the next game, the score checker contacted the box umpire to suspend the game and introduced a review. Incredibly, replays showed that football had deviated from Membrey’s boot before bouncing between the central outposts.

“Tim Membrey with a miraculous goal,” cried Luke Darcy of the Western Bulldogs in the Channel 7 commentary.

“There are crickets in Adelaide Oval.”

Channel 7 host James Brayshaw replied: “It’s unbelievable.

“Mary’s karate kick is successful! Hazelnuts. You can’t.

Darcy replied: “Cristiano Ronaldo would have been proud of that.

“The fact that he crossed your head like something in himself, and looks at the reaction.”

Membrey finished eighth with two objectives, nine provisions and 3 points. The 26-year-old has set 171 goals for St Kilda since signing with the club in 2015.

Port Adelaide has five days to rediscover his mojo before facing the Melbourne Demons in Brisbane on Friday, while St Kilda will face the Sydney Swans in Gabba on Saturday.
