AFL 2020: Cam McCarthy leaves Fremantle after rejecting his contract

The Dockers demonstrated Thursday night that the former Giants led to a not-ranging club in central Queensland after being informed this week that he would not be presented with a contract extension beyond the 2020 season.

Sam McClure of The Age first reported on the bomb blast on Twitter.

“Cam McCarthy left Fremantle. He said he would not be presented with a contract for next year,” McClure said.

McCarthy reportedly remains eager to continue his career, despite refusing to sign up for his Cairns teammates for his Queensland game series, starting in round 15.

AFL: Carlton beat Fremantle 40-36 in a mystery at Optus Stadium in his 12th showdown.

The Dockers play two home games at Optus Stadium, the Swans on Saturday and the Giants on August 29 before flying to Queensland for the rest of the season.

McCarthy probably wouldn’t be with them.

Fremantle showed the news at one of football ceo Peter Bell.

“The club, Cam and their control have agreed that Cam will be released from their agreement with the AFL by 2020,” Bell said.

“We had discussions with Cam and his control over his long career at Fremantle.

“We think it was fair to warn Cam as soon as you could imagine that his contract was unlikely to end beyond the end of the 2020 season.

On this basis, Cam and his control discussed the stage with their circle of relatives and informed the club that they wanted to download an early discharge from their contract, which was agreed by all parties.

“Cam is very popular with our members and supporters, and on behalf of everyone at the club, we thank him for the contribution he has made in his 4 seasons at Fremantle,” Bell said.

“We also wish Cam all the best for his long-term projects and the next level of his career.”

McCarthy was taken to hospital in June after collapsing a contactless education consultation into a mystery that astonished the AFL.

The Dockers then announced after days of hypothesis that McCarthy had been with epilepsy.

“Cam has been tested with specialists and a neurologist. Recently, the neurologist said Cam was suffering from epilepsy,” Bell said in June.

“This will mean that Cam will have to undergo treatment, which comes to medicine for a while.

“Cam is making his way through this and so will the club with our medical team.”

McCarthy has played for Fremantle since the club’s first-round loss to Essendon.

The Dockers took a chance unfortunately with McCarthy before the 2016 world-class era when the Dockers passed the Giants the Giants’ 3rd pick of the Giants draft to the Giants in a deal that allowed McCarthy back to Western Australia.

It didn’t work out what was expected in the agreement.

McCarthy played 48 games for the Dockers and was the club’s most sensible scorer in the 2017 season.

This may be enough to induce at least one AFL club to throw the cube over McCarthy in the AFL 2020 advertising period.
