Acquisition of Motor Group to expand visitor base in Cumbria

A Cumbria-based dealership has joined its developing portfolio following the acquisition of a Volvo site, for an undisclosed amount.

Lloyd Motor Group has acquired Volvo Cars’ business in Levens, near Kendal.

It will be renamed Lloyd South Lakes – Volvo Cars and will cater to consumers in the South Cumbria and North Lancashire regions.

Dobson recently confirmed, largely after Lloyd Motor Group’s acquisition of its Lloyd Kia South Lakes site in Morecambe.

The medium-term plan is to house Volvo Cars and Kia on the existing Levens site.

The acquisition of Lloyd Motor Group to continue its expansion in South Cumbria, strengthening its presence in the region along its retailers Lloyd BMW South Lakes and Lloyd MINI South Lakes.

Lloyd South Lakes: Volvo Cars is the company’s largest Volvo Cars dealer, having first represented the manufacturer in Cockermouth from 1977 and then moved to Carlisle. Lloyd Motor Group has more than four decades of experience with Volvo Cars.
