MILWAUKEE — Charges have been filed opposed to a 14-year-old boy accused of hitting and killing a motorcyclist downtown the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival, which a crook complaint says was just a step in a series of violent crimes that evening.
Zykevious Joshua-Alexander, 14, faces five felony charges: reckless murder (first degree), operating a vehicle, fleeing or evading an officer resulting in death, hit-and-run resulting in death, operating an unlicensed motor vehicle resulting in death. and operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent as a crime.
According to a criminal complaint, the 14-year-old suspect is accused of stealing a woman’s wallet and cellphone around 6:20 p. m. m. CST on July 27, 2024 in the 700 block of W St. Avenue. Paul. The victim and Joshua-Alexander and his accomplice reportedly approached his family as they were returning to their car from the German Festival.

The suspects allegedly pointed a gun at them when they were not easy money. The victim told the government that the two suspects left after searching her car, asking her for more cash, and even asking her to send them cash through Cash App. This phone was recovered in the Chicago area and later returned to the victim.
Milwaukee police officers responded to the scene to investigate and around 6:34 p. m. m. CST, the suspects were noted attempting to break into a parked car. The suspects allegedly got into a stolen silver Hyundai and ran away from the scene while the Milwaukee government gave chase.
The suspect vehicle escaped officers’ sight until pedestrians reported it to the government near the intersection of S. Barclay Street and E. Walker St, where the Hyundai crashed and a man was seen injured on the pavement as bystanders tried to rescue him. .
This victim, who was pronounced dead at 7:16 p. m. CST, later known as Marc Jones, 31, of Oregon, WI, visited the Milwaukee domain for the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival.
Surveillance footage showed the suspects running a prevention signal, crashing into Jones’ vehicle and sending him flying out of his vehicle. Authorities also recovered a firearm that fell from the Hyundai at the crash site. The video shows the two suspects fleeing on foot and effectively escaping the scene of the crime.
Over the next few days, the Milwaukee government accumulated data suggesting that Joshua-Alexander was to blame for this series of crimes. The offender’s complaint claimed that Joshua-Alexander “knew of Milwaukee police as potentially active in the commission of vehicle thefts and thefts. “
Authorities went to his home in the 3900 block of W Walnut St. , where he first attempted to flee and was eventually discovered under a pile of clothes in his basement.
Joshua-Alexander allegedly admitted to stealing the Hyundai, stealing from the aforementioned family, running in front of the government, and fleeing the scene. He said he was unaware of the motorcycle accident.
