EAGLE, Idaho – Eagle Police responded to a home in the hundred block of E Aikens St around nine p. m. on July 18 after receiving reports of a car crashing into a home.
When officials arrived, they discovered an unoccupied white Ford Mustang that had crashed into a wall of the residence. Fortunately, no one was home at the time of the accident.
A teenage officer on scene discovered a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash and he suffered minor injuries in the crash. Witnesses told police the driver fled after the crash. A loaded firearm was discovered next to the driver’s seat of the Mustang.
The driver, Matthew Jeffs, 27, of Emmett, was later discovered and arrested less than a mile from the scene of the crash.
Jeffs has since been booked into the Ada County Jail on charges of serious injury to a child, misdemeanor driving under the influence, misdemeanor abandonment of the scene of a twist of fate, and misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence of alcohol. alcohol. His bail was set at $50,000.
The next step for Jeffs is the initial one scheduled for 8:30 a. m. m. of August 1.
