A guy driving at 100 km/h at a Brisbane school at the time of the pickup allegedly stole the vehicle before crashing into three other cars.
A 30-year-old Tingalpa guy has been charged with crimes after driving a white Subaru sedan that he allegedly stole on August 11, about a hundred miles/h along Smith Road in Woodridge, before colliding with three other outdoor cars several a school at 3 p.m.
Police allege that the Subaru cut a car, prompting it to cross the street and collide head-on with the vehicle.
At the time the vehicle suffered significant damage and contained 3 elementary school children. The third car was also severely damaged and had two young men inside.
The fourth suffered minor damage.
All occupants of the cars escaped serious injuries.
The alleged driving force of the stolen Subaru suffered minor injuries and was arrested by police before being transported by police to Princess Alexandra Hospital for a pre-emptive evaluation.
Since then, a 30-year-old boy from Tingalpa has been charged with two counts of trespassing and a charge of harmful driving while driving a motor vehicle while being affected by an intoxicating substance, illegal use of a motor vehicle, obstruction of police, assault on police, fraud and driving a license.
He is scheduled to appear before the Beenleigh Magistrates’ Court on 17 August.
