A man who stopped to help had his car stolen at the dark crash site in New Jersey

JACKSON: No act goes unpunished.

The vehicle of a man who stopped to help an overturned vehicle on Highway 195 early Wednesday morning was stolen by the other people he was looking to help.

State Police Sgt. Marchan said a Volkswagen with two other people overturned on the east shoulder near Exit 21 (Highway 527) around 3:15 a. m.

When the Good Samaritan parked and was asked to help him, the two men got into the driver’s vehicle and drove off, leaving him on the road in the dark.

Marchan did not disclose whether he used any weapons.

The victim’s vehicle was later discovered unoccupied in Galloway. Marchan said the VW was stolen from Freehold.
