An impromptu monument has been created at the site of a fatal car twist of fate in Kelowna that claimed the lives of 3 top students.
The students, all grade 12 at Kelowna High School, died early Wednesday after the black Honda Civic they were in hit a pole on Gordon Drive.
Police released their identities, but said: “The 18-year-old female driver, 18-year-old passenger and 17-year-old female passenger, all from the Kelowna area, were pronounced dead at the site. »

The local government issued statements about the tragedy, calling it a heartbreaking one.
Tracy Gray, a member of Kelowna-Lake Country, said: “My heart hurts to be told of the tragic and sudden loss of three kelowna High School students. My deepest condolences are passed on to your family, friends and the entire KSS community. »
On Facebook, Dan Albas, a member of Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola’s Parliament, said: “My mind is with the KSS families, friends and teachers who are suffering this loss.
“I would also like to thank the lifeguards and thank them for their service in very difficult circumstances.
“When tragedy strikes, it reminds us all how fragile our lives are and how interconnected our communities have become. “
Norm Letnick, Mp for Kelowna-Lake Country, said: “My deepest condolences are to the families, friends and friends of the 3 scholars who left us too soon.

On the City of Kelowna’s Twitter account, Mayor Colin Basran made a statement.
