A luxury used car dealership needs to be remodeled to demonstrate only a high-end vehicle.

A luxury used car dealer in east London hopes to turn its showroom into a place where a single high-end vehicle is displayed.

Imperials Hornchuch’s application follows its failed last year to demolish the single-storey building on Butts Green Road and upgrade it with a three-storey space.

Havering’s Council considered that the proposal would have been “unacceptably dominant and visually intrusive” and rejected it.

Imperials, whose inventory currently includes a Porsche 911, a Lamborghini Huracan and a Bentley Continental, is now the green light to tear down the building and build a two-storey in its place, according to the Romford Recorder.

The refurbishment, which cost up to £2 million, would see the upper floor made up of offices, while the ground floor would be the showroom, which would be entirely faithful to a single car.

In making plans for the existing application made on behalf of Imperials Prestige Properties, SDP Studio said that Imperials Hornchuch also submitted an application in April for some other mezzanine instead of 3 floors.

However, it backtracked once it emerged that its design would still have resulted in a rejection recommendation.

The new showroom would have more than two hundred square meters, but the first plot would be set back and there would be no mezzanine.

A resolution is expected until September 9 and, if approved, the paintings will begin in January and are expected to take no more than six months.
