A look at Tesla’s crash testing lab

The National Highway Safety Administration has advanced its generation game with the redesign of its SaferCar app. The update, announced Thursday by NHTSA, adds automatic alerts in case of recall of a vehicle through a manufacturer.

The SaferCar app has allowed you to search for reminders, but this new update proactively sends alerts in case an automaker has problems with one. Otherwise, owners probably wouldn’t know until a notice appears in the mail, infrequently months later. Now, the app will automatically send an alert to your smartphone once the NHTSA has classified the documents that the public can see. Management said users can register their cars in a virtual garage, indicating the formula for which cars to send alerts. Although similar facilities exist, this is a flexible application directly from the U.S. federal government.

When it comes to privacy, NHTSA states that your knowledge is stored on your smartphone and that there is no way for management to gain this knowledge.

Hopefully, the newest feature will be a blessing to owners and help manage notable retreats. According to the government, one in 4 cars on the road has an open retreat. Safety recalls only occur when a defect increases the threat of injury or accident. It is vital to be careful with all open reminders issued to your vehicle; are repaired if they are loose and this can save their life.

The new updated app will now be available on the Android Play Store and will appear later in the Apple App Store.
