Cambodia’s southern coast is booming with the opening of new sustainable hotels that are doing glorious things for the country’s ecological credentials.
At the forefront of these is Six Senses Krabey Island, a luxury James Bond-style shipwreck that delights on a personal island in the Gulf of Thailand.
The hotel is an eco-friendly enclave located discreetly among lush foliage, providing all the insulation for undercover espionage activity.

Spread across the island there are 40 villas with personal pools, terraces, ceilings and beds with floating awnings.

The mi6 environment is felt for the first time upon arrival.
Guests are picked up in an elegant boarding hall and transported by speedboat from a personal jetty.
It’s an exciting and exclusive way to start my stay at Six Senses. At the other end, a dozen staff members were covered in the dock to personally welcome us, a very special touch.
They paint in a station committed to a planet-friendly lifestyle.
It has been committed to being plastic-free until 2022; it even has a bottling plant that supplies drinking water to consumers to plastic waste; the villas have ‘living’ ceilings, the main construction is covered with solar panels and much of the station’s products come from a biological farm on the mainland.

I was seduced through my one bedroom villa with pool and I enjoyed the floor-to-ceiling windows, which made me feel like I was sleeping in the jungle.

There are two restaurants serving Cambodian classics, such as the crazy classic. Pictured, tree restaurant, which Samantha enjoyed
Food and beverage evaluation? It’s a boost for the company. There’s the Sunset Bar, a glacier and two restaurants.
I enjoyed dining at the sublime signature restaurant, Tree, which specializes in Khmer and Southeast Asian cuisine with an emphasis on seafood.
I introduced wild crab (a classic Cambodian curry) and coconut pudding and tapioca.

The offer of well-being is equally appetizing.
You can also do your own herbal skin care at the Alchemy Bar, grab a yoga elegance in a pavilion or opt for a full-frame fitness MOT.
I booked one morning to explore the spa and laughed at the Alchemy Bar; However, I spent my time with the lie face down on a heated massage table.
Its fair offer of well-being continues in the kitchen, where chefs prepare in the morning a hearty buffet consisting of healthy tropical fruits, jars of yogurt topped with granola and nutritious drinks with nut milk.
I had the muesli mango bircher and a creamy, creamy and delicious iced milk coffee.
But an island-to-island getaway is a must, especially since no to Cambodia is complete without seeing the biggest attraction in the country: the famous temples.
Getting from Six Senses Krabey Island is easy, with Sihanoukville Airport within walking distance.
From here, take a 50-minute flight to Siem Reap, home to the Unesco-listed Angkor Archaeological Park and about 50 impressive temples.
The most productive way to observe the ruins on a day itinerary? En Vespa.
And if you also need to witness the sunrise over Angkor Wat, the world’s largest construction and Cambodia’s Crown Jewel, you’ll need to set the alarm early.
We arrived at the sacred site around 6am and it was filling up quickly. The most productive view is from the lotus pond, so we put ourselves in position, the cameras balanced and wait for the sun to rise.
Unfortunately, it is that a lonely moment will be located away from the multitude of tourists to appreciate the true non-secular importance of the temple.
However, seeing its expanding silhouette framed in opposition to a coral sky is fine fighting infatuation.
